Scrub through 1958, 1965, 1975 and 1985 to watch the map take shape, then read how the three governing bodies ran it, what membership cost a promoter, and why the map fell apart in the 1980s. The GWA appears on that page as the one promotion that refused to join: a Western alliance that answered to none of the three bodies and crowned its own world champion in 1965\.
