Two new pages: the territory map and the worldbuilding guide

Two new pages on the site: a map of the real wrestling territories, and a guide to building a fictional promotion of your own.

The North American wrestling territories in 1975

Territorial Era Wrestling maps the regional promotions that made up North American wrestling for most of the 20th century. Scrub through 1958, 1965, 1975 and 1985 to watch the map take shape, then read how the three governing bodies ran it, what membership cost a promoter, and why the map fell apart in the 1980s.

The GWA appears on that page as the one promotion that refused to join: a Western alliance that answered to none of the three bodies and crowned its own world champion in 1965. From there the page opens onto the Worldbook's 14 territories.

How to Build a Fictional Wrestling Promotion is the method in five steps: start with the map, name it like a business, divide the run into eras, let the championships carry the history, and give every character an address. Each step is shown with an example from the Worldbook.

Build one wrestling territory from scratch runs all five steps on one invented territory at the western end of Lake Superior, at length, so the reasoning stays visible.

Both guides end with a free download. The Worldbuilding Starter Kit is fourteen pages of worksheets: a blank territory map, five territory sheets, a naming sheet, an era planner, a title lineage tracker and a character sheet, with one territory filled in as a model. The map page offers the GWA territory map at print resolution with a territory-by-territory reference.
